The next HIA meeting is Tuesday Jan 20th, 7PM at the Hartwell Recreation Center. In addition to updates from the police, fire, community center, Hartwell School and HIA, we will discuss grant opportunities, zoning and our goals for 2026. Please join us. You do not need to be a member to attend.

Due to extreme cold and subzero wind chills, all trash, yard waste, and bulk collections are suspended today. The safety of our staff is our top priority. Collections will resume tomorrow and operate on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. Last year the HIA donated enough money for the entire boys' basketball team to receive new shoes. The kids won their championship! This year we donated $275. While they do not need 5,000, they do need additional donations to help pay for the jerseys and shoes. The majority of children are from low-income households, so this helps the kids be able to play.

GLBD is also a collection point for Toys for Tots
