The Millcreek Valley Conservancy District (MVCD) is entering an exciting new chapter, and we are seeking community-minded leaders who are interested in helping shape its future.
Established under Ohio law, the MVCD was created to address flooding, stormwater management, and watershed protection throughout the Mill Creek Valley. Today, the organization is being reestablished to meet the evolving needs of our communities by strengthening flood resilience, protecting natural resources, supporting recreation, fostering environmental stewardship, and building partnerships throughout the watershed.
The Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and policy direction for the Conservancy. Board members work collaboratively to establish priorities, adopt policies, oversee finances, and guide long-term planning while supporting the Executive Director in implementing the organization's mission. Service on the Board is an opportunity to contribute your experience, perspective, and leadership to projects that will benefit the region for generations.
Why serve? Because healthy watersheds create stronger communities. Board members have a unique opportunity to help protect neighborhoods, improve water quality, expand recreational opportunities, encourage collaboration among local governments and community partners, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Whether your background is in business, engineering, finance, education, environmental stewardship, public service, or community leadership, your perspective can make a meaningful difference. But, most importantly, we need your help.
